NetNordic, Alcatel-Lucent and NTE Bredbånd have successfully deployed a Single Carrier 100G Coherent DWDM service over NTEs operational 1830 PSS DWDM system.

The commercial trial was carried out in November 2011, utilizing NTEs operational fiber network between Trondheim and Steinkjer.

“With the Alcatel-Lucent Single Carrier 100G Coherent technology and intuitive management tools, we have seen that we can setup wavelengths in minutes, and also 10G multiplexed services in seconds, something we can do anywhere in our ROADM network. The commercial trial showed that the 100Gbs solution is not just foilware, but proved to be a plug and play upgrade. We now know that our roads in Nord-Trøndelag can be widened from 440 Gbs to 4.4Tbs highways. This is very reassuring as we see that the bandwidth demand continues to grow, says Tore Hagen, NTE.”
